The Himalayan
Kingdom of Nepal cannot be described in just
a few
|
|
words. A popular destination of hundreds and thousands
of people from around the world every year, it has
a different significance to everyone.
The Kingdom of Nepal offers an incomparable blend
of high mountains and rich cultures. Nepal embraces
the Central Himalaya including eight of the worlds
10 highest peaks, rushing rivers and rolling terraced
hills; lush, steamy tropics and high altitude plains.
Nepal's unique blend of Hinduism and Buddhism is endlessly
fascinating, as is its rich ethnic mosaic of diverse
people. There are few places as strange and beautiful,
and few people as friendly as people in Nepal.

THE
ROYAL TREK
Grade: Easy
Duration: 9 days
(4 days tented trek, 1 day Pokhara, 4 days Kathmandu)
The trek got its name from the one
luminary that did this short and easy trek, none other
than Price Charles himself. This is a short trek with
relatively less uphill climbs than most treks. Not having
good lodge facilities on this route it is less crowded
compared to other trekking routes in the Annapurna region.
But if you do not have much time and are looking at
a trek that is easy but one that allows you spectacular
mountain views, we would recommend that you opt for
this trek.
The trail on this trek passes through rice fields, forested
ridge tops, tals(lakes) and temples.
Our excursion begins with a fascinating sightseeing
tour of the Kathmandu Valley. Over the last two thousand
years, the sacred cultural of the Newars, its indigenous
inhabitants, spawned an artistic efferescence unmatched
in the Himalayan region. He Valleys pagoda temples and
stupas, vibrant festivals and quaint streetscapes derive
from a unique amalgamation if Hinduism and Buddhism
give the entire place a themepark like atmosphere. Seven
of the Valley's monument have been honored as World
Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
After enjoying the cultural treats of Kathmandu, we
fly to Pokhara and drive to Bijayypur from where the
trek starts to be rewarded with mesmerizing views of
Machhapuchre (6997m) and other peaks of The Annapurna
Himal. Passing through charming villages, we end our
walk at Begnastal, the second largest lake in Pokhara
area. Lush green forests, glacial lakes and Himalayan
giant that seem close enough to touch are the highlights
of this trip.
We spend a day relaxing at Pokhara, an enchanting lakeside
town at the foot of the Annapurna range. The trip ends
with a drive back to Kathmandu.
