This trip brings to you
the best of Nepal. From Newari culture, the high hills
to the greatest mountains on planet earth,you will embark
on a journey that will stay in your memory for as long
as you live. Your first stop is Kathmandu, also called
the "Valley of the Gods". Here you will see
intricate pagodas, serene stupas, and the achievements
of the Nepalese people. The stone carvings of Pashupati,
the exquisite metal work of Patan Durbar Square, and
the friendly smiles of the people will make your stay
in the Valley rewarding.
After a tour of Kathmandu, you will embark on an easy
and comfortable trek that takes you to the most amazing
mountain panoramas in the world. This trek to the Everest
region goes as high as 3400 meters, a comfortable altitude,
yet brings you up close to the great Himalayan peaks.
From the Pike La pass you will see Everest, Lhotse,
Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Khwnagde, Kusum Khang Koru and a range
of other spectacular peaks. A hif=ghlight of theis visit
is Thupten Choling Monastery, established in 1960 by
Tulshi Rimpoche of Tibet, where 450 monks and nuns reside,
and meditate and offer prayers to the lords. Sacred
stones, Buddhist chortens and prayer flags mark the
walking route you will share with yak caravans that
carry goods to and from Sherpa villages.
You will also experience the ancient Buddhist traditions
practiced and may be benefit from the age-old mountain
medicines made here. On the hill slopes are the Himalayan
Tahr and barking deer grazing. You will walk through
alpine forests covered by moss-covered trees of rhododendron,
magnolia, maple and birch. You may see white, pink,
and re blossoms and around 800 species of colourful
Asian birds as you trek in the Everest region. After
you holiday here, you will return back to Kathmandu
and then go home with unforgettable images of the Nepalese
mountains.
